Career 

He worked at the Minsk Tractor Plant. In 1992 he founded Triple, which has become a versatile business. Čyž’s companies are now engaged in the processing and sale of petroleum products, construction and the restaurant business, the production of beverages, retail, tourism and sports.

Čyž annually places in top positions in the ‘Rank of the most successful and influential businessmen in Belarus’ by internet portal ej.by. He is believed to be a close friend of President Alexander Lukashenka. In 2012 the European Union introduced visa restrictions on Juryj Čyž and placed sanctions on his companies.

In March 2016 the State Security Committee (KGB) arrested him on tax evasion charges. In September 2016 he was released from prison after full reimbursement of the damage amounting to circa $12-13 mn.
