Dziarnovič Alieh

In 1988-1991 he worked as an archaeologist at the Institute 'Belspecpraektrestaŭracyja'. From 1991 to 1994 he studied at the graduate school of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus. From 1994 to 2004 he worked as a junior researcher at the Institute of History, from 2004 to 2005 - as a research fellow. In 2004 he defended his PhD thesis.

In the 1990s, he began to cooperate with the independent press, published in the newspaper 'Freedom' and 'Naša Niva', was the executive secretary of the editorial office of 'Nasha Niva' newspaper. In 1998 he founded the project 'Archive of Contemporary History', which collects information on the history of the Belarusian society in the second half of the twentieth century, especially in the field of non-conformism. He teaches at the Flying University and the Belarusian Collegium.

Founder and editor of the annual scientific almanac 'Metriciana: Research and Materials of the Metrics of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania' (published since 2001). He also edits periodicals 'ATHENAEUM: Commentarii Historiæ et Culturae' and 'Šufliada: the Journal of Contemporary History'.
