Career 

In 1970-1971 was an engineer at the farm in Luninets district. From 1971 to 1975 was a chief agronomist and deputy chairman of the collective farm the Path of Lenin. In 1975-1981 led the collective farm Svitanak.

From 1981 to 1991 he was deputy chairman of the executive committee of the Luninets Council of People's Deputies, Head of the Department of Agriculture and first secretary of the Brest Region Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus.

In 1991-1995 headed Brest District Council of People's Deputies and the Brest Region executive committee. From 1996 to 1998 he was deputy chief of the Control Service of the President of the Republic of Belarus and Vice-Chairman of the State Control Committee.

In 1998-2001 was First Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee and Chairman of the State Tax Committee. From 2001 to 2004 was a Minister for Taxes and Levies. From 2004 to 2014 led the Brest Regional Executive Committee.
