From 1986-2002 he worked in various positions at the 'Dorstroymontazhtrest' of the Belarusian Railway.
After graduation he worked as a construction Foreman for the construction of train number 391 at Brest Central Station of the Belarusian Railway 'Darbudmantažtrest', then as Chief Engineer of the Construction Management Committee number 2 at Mogilev Railway station.

From 1987 to 1989 he worked as Head of Construction for train number 761 at Mogilev Railway Station.
From 1989 to 2001 he was Head of Construction for train number 367 at the Minsk plant of the 'Dorstroymontazhtrest' of the Belarusian Railway. In 2002 he was appointed Chief Engineer for Construction of the 'Darbudmantažtrest' Enterprise of the Belarusian Railway.

In 2002-2006 he was appointed as Deputy Head of the Belarusian Railway. In 2006-2009 he worked as Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus - as Chief Inspector for Minsk. In June 2009 he was appointed Head of the Belarusian Railway.

Was appointed as Minister of Transport and Communications, his current position, on 31st July 2012.
