Career 

From 1968 to 1970 served in the Soviet Army, in 1970-1972 worked as a senior agronomist. From 1972 to 1975 worked as an instructor at Liozna Komsomol district committee and the Communist Party of Belarus.

In 1975-1878 was a party secretary in the farm Adamenki, and the next four years was a chairman of a collective farm. From 1981 to 1985 he headed the department of agriculture of the Liozna District Executive Committee, and in 1985-1987 Liozna District Executive Committee. 

The next five years he supervised the Vierkhniadzvinsk district committee of the Communist Party of Belarus and Vierkhniadzvinsk District Council of People's Deputies.

From 1991 to 1994 was a Deputy Chairman of the Vitsebsk Region Executive Committee, and in 1994 and 2008 led the Vitsebsk Region Executive Committee. In 2008 and in 2012 became a member of the House of Representatives.
