Vinahradaŭ Paviel

Was an activist for the 'European Belarus' campaign for several years.
In 2008, he was a defendant in the so-called 'Case of 14', arrested under Art. 342 of the Criminal Code for participation in the 'Rally of Entrepreneurs' in January 2008. He was sentenced to 2 years without being sent to a penitentiary institution on a suspended sentence. A year later he was pardoned. He worked as a mechanic during this probationary period.

Since the summer of 2010 he has worked as an activist for the 'Tell the Truth!' campaign. In the presidential election of 2010 he was one of the most active members of Uladzimir Niakliajeŭ's action group.

He was arrested on January 5th 2011 and charged with the organisation of and participation in mass disorders and held in jail No.1 in Minsk.

On May 5, 2011, Paviel was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment and transferred to the Ivacevičy jail. In September 2011 he was released under a decree of pardon signed by the acting head of state.
