In 1987 he defended his PhD thesis. From 1988 he worked as an assistant professor of reinforced concrete and masonry structures at Navapolack Polytechnic Institute. From 1996 to 1998 he was a doctoral student of the Belarusian State Polytechnic Academy. In 1999 he defended his habilitation dissertation. In 2000, he was awarded the academic title of professor. From 1999 to May 2003 he was dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. For many years he worked as professor of the department of building constructions. In 2003 he was appointed Rector of Polack State University.
