Karahin Uladzimir Mikalajevič

While being a student and later a teacher he was known as the organiser of student construction brigades movement, head of the leading student construction teams in Belarus and the USSR, was among the first builders of BAM, power plants in Siberia and Yakutia (1972-1988).

In 1978-1998 he taught at the Belarusian State University and the Republican Institute for Interdisciplinary Training for Managers and Specialists of the Industries of the National Economy.

Since he was 1993 the founder, rector, professor of the non-state Academy of Parliamentarism and Entrepreneurship (currently Honorary Rector). He is a member of the International Academy of Organisational and Administrative Sciences and the International Academy of Information Processes and Technology.

In 1989-1999 was a deputy, member of the presidium, chairman of the permanent parliamentary commission on economic development and the budget, deputy chairman of the Minsk City Council of Deputies.

Since 1985 was involved in the development of private sector of economy and management (cooperation, entrepreneurship). The founder and shareholder of a number of businesses.

Since 1988 he has been heading public associations of entrepreneurs and employers at the local, national and international levels. He initiated and headed the Union of Industrial Cooperatives of BSSR and the USSR, the Union of Belarusian Businessmen, the Belarusian Society of Consumer Protection, the Belarusian Union of Taxpayers, the Belarusian Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Belarusian Fund for Financial Support of Entrepreneurs. He established 22 business support centres, a number of newspapers and magazines.
