Šajeŭ Valiancin Piatrovič

From 1984 to 1986 he served in the Armed Forces of the USSR. In 1991 he graduated from the Belarusian State University law faculty.

From 1991 to 1998 he worked in the Prosecutor's Office as an investigator. From 1998 to 2003 he worked as the prosecutor of the Rasony district of Viciebsk region. From 2003 to 2006 - the prosecutor of Viciebsk region. From 2006 to 2009 he was head of the Department for Investigation of Criminal Cases of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus. From 2009 to 2012 he worked as the prosecutor of Homiel region.

On 1 January 2012 he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus and on 16 November 2012 he became Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

In November 2015 he was released from the position of Chairman of the Investigative Committee.
