In 1979-1981 was the instructor if the Mahiliou City Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, the following three years he worked as a head of the industrial and transport department of the Kastrychnik District Committee of the Mahiliou branch of the Communist Party of Belarus. In 1983-1985 was the instructor in the Mahiliou Region Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus. From 1985 to 1991 was a secretary of the party committee at the Mahiliou Automobile Plant and the second secretary of the city committee of Mahiliou branch of the Communist Party of Belarus. In 1991-2001 worked in business. In 2001-2002 was a chairman of the committee of economy and market relations at Mahiliou Region Executive Committee. From 2002 to 2012 he was deputy chairman of the Mahiliou Region Executive Committee. In 2012 he became a member of the House of Representatives.
