Until 1987 he worked as an assistant foreman, foreman, senior foreman, deputy head of the department of the Homselmash plant; bureau chief, deputy chief power engineer, deputy chief engineer of the foundry of Homselmash.

In 1987-2003 he was the head of the Homiel Regional Office for supervision of rational use of energy resources.

In 2003-2006 - First Deputy Chairman of the Energy Committee of the Republic of Belarus, in 2006-2008 - Deputy Minister of Energy of Belarus.

In 2008-2012 he headed the Energy Efficiency Department of the Agency of State Standards. In 2012-2013 was the head of one of the departments of Gazprom Transgaz Belarus, the Belarusian subsidiary of Gazprom.

In 2013-2016 he was the First Deputy Minister of Energy.
