From 1990 to 1993 he worked as an assistant and senior assistant for a prosecutor of Mahiliou district, while in 1993-1998 was a judge of the court of the Kastrychnicki district of Mahiliou.

From 1998 to 2005 was the first deputy head of the justice department of the Mahiliou Region Executive Committee. In 2006-2014 was Deputy and First Deputy Minister of Justice.
