From 1983 Laciankoŭ served in the military as an officer of tank forces.

After graduating in 1993 from the Military Academy of the Armoured Forces he held various positions in the army, reaching the post of head of armaments of the Land Forces .

After graduating in 2007 from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation military service he became the chief of the department of rocket and artillery armament, and then the Deputy Chief of Armaments of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
