He worked as an economist at the collective farm Komintern in Orša district, then as the main specialist in fodder production and the head of the regional department of agriculture in Liozna district of Viciebsk region.

After finishing the graduate school, he taught at the Agricultural Academy at the Department of Production Organisation. He defended his doctoral dissertation in 2005 and became the head of the department, and then the dean of the Faculty of Economics.

In 2006 he was appointed rector of Paliessie University.
