In 1994, during the presidential campaign he was a confidant of Aliaksandr Lukashenko. Worked as a member of the election campaign staff for Stanislaŭ Šuškievič during elections to the Supreme Soviet in 1995. From 1996 to 1997 led the youth organization ‘Direct Action’, and over 1997-2001 the Belarusian Patriotic Youth Union.

Prior to 1999, he belonged to the party 'Slavic Council White Ruthenia'. In 2000-2004 was a member of the House of Representatives, and from 2005 to 2007 worked as chief editor of the ‘Planeta’ magazine.

In 2007-2008 - was the First Deputy Chief of Department - Head of the Office for the Coordination of the Ideological Work of the Main Ideological Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus. In 2008-2017 - Head of the Ideological Department of the Presidential Administration.

Since 2013 - Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the High-Tech Park.
