Initially he worked as a mechanic and engineer.

In 1992-2004 was head of the International Institute of Management (MIM-Belarus), in 2004-2005 was head of the Delegation of the Board of the Slavic peoples of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine in Belarus.

1993-2004 - Chairman of People's Diplomacy, a Belarusian public association.

1994-2000 - Chairman of the Belarusian People's Party.

In 1996-2000 he was a member of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus of the 13th convocation.

In 1994, 2010 and 2015 he was presidential candidate.

In September-December 2010 he was chairman of the Council of the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises.
