Career 

In 1959-1965 she worked at the Belarusian edition of the Spanish National Radio, and also taught French in Madrid. In 1969 her family moved to Canada, where she worked in the Federal Translation Office.

In 1974 she was elected chairman of the Belarusian Institute of Science and the Arts in Canada. In 1984 she was elected to the board of the Canadian Ethnocultural Council. In 1989 she founded the Canadian Fund for the Victims of Chernobyl in Belarus and chaired it until 1997.
