Career 

From 1981 to 1987 he worked as an engineer and research assistant at the Belarusian State University. Beginning in 1989, he worked at the Lyceum of Belarusian State University and from 1992 to 2004 he supervised it.

From 2004-2012 was director of the National Institute for Education. In 2014 he headed the Higher Attestation Commission.
