From 1981 to 1992 he served in the Red Banner Transcaucasian Border District of KGB on various positions: from a private, deputy chief of frontier post, chief of frontier post to the deputy commandant.

In 1992-2008 he served on various positions in the Smarhoń border detachment, since 2004 was the head of this detachment. In 2008 he was appointed Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the State Border Committee of Belarus, and then - Deputy Chairman of the State Border Committee - Head of the Main Department of Logistics.

In 2014-2016 he worked as Deputy Chairman of the State Border Committee of Belarus. Has a rank of Major-General.
