Kaltovič previously worked as Deputy Director General in two major state-owned retail stores in Minsk: the Belarus supermarket and Niamiha trading house. He was deputy head of the Zavadski district of Minsk, and deputy chairman of the Minsk city executive committee. He also headed the Minsk city handball federation. In 2009-2010 he worked as Deputy Minister of Trade. From 2012 to 2015 he worked as minister-counselor at the Belarusian Embassy in Moscow.
